Chevrolet Sonic B-Spec race car concept

Previews competition kit

Chevrolet Performance has transformed the Sonic into a B-Spec race car.

This concept previews a competition kit developed for racers who want to transform their standard Sonic into a race car. This production-intended kit will include suspension, chassis and other components such as adjustable front stabilizer bar links and inlet air restrictor.

The concept features 15x7-inch wheels with racing tires and wears a Luxor Blue paint with Monaco Blue graphics. It has a carbon fiber race seat, roll cage, five-point safety harness, fire extinguisher, quick-release steering wheel, center catch net and window safety net.

Just like all B-Spec classes, the engine inside this Sonic is the standard 1.8-liter fitted with an air restrictor and connected to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Sales of this kit are expected to commence in Q1 2013 via Chevrolet Performance retailers.

Additional details are provided in the attached press release.
