Four seats and 460 HP

Maserati installed two rear seats in the GranTurismo MC Stradale and they are showing the updated car at Geneva Motor Show.

The revised model is more than just a facelift since it has borrowed the engine from the GranTurismo Sport, a car which Maserati showed one year ago in Geneva. This is a 4.7-liter V8 mill producing 460 HP (338 kW) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft). It's linked to a 6-speed robotized manual MC Race Shift transmission which enables the high-performance coupe to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.5 seconds before hitting 188 mph (303 km/h).

Stopping the car efficiently are Brembo ceramic brake discs, while the restyled hood is made from carbon fiber and boasts a central air intake. The car rides on 20-inch forged alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and sports dual exhaust pipes at the back. Even though it has two additional seats, the 2013 GranTurismo MC Stradale has the just about the same dry weight as its older two-door counterpart which tips the scales at 1,700 kg (3,747 lbs).

With the lessons learned from the Trofeo and GT4 racing programs, Maserati was able to develop a more efficient aero package for improving high-speed stability and airflow. Novelties include a deep front splitter built into the front bumper, a more pronounced rear lip spoiler on the boot, restyled rear bumper and deep functional side skirts.
