The XK's swan song

The Jaguar XK is slated to be phased out later this year so the company has introduced the XK Final Fifty Edition at the New York Auto Show.

Set to go on sale this fall, exclusively in the United States, the Final Fifty Edition is based on the XKR and will include a production run of 25 coupes and 25 convertibles. This is a subtle tribute to the Jaguar E-Type which also ended its production run with 50 special editions.

As for the car itself, it will feature an Ultimate Black exterior with an XKR-S GT hood and 20-inch forged wheels. The model will also be equipped with the Dynamic and Performance packages which add aerodynamic side skirts, a rear diffuser and a rear wing.

The cabin is largely untouched but comes equipped with Performance seats, a Jet suedecloth steering wheel and special door sill plates. The special edition will also have a Bowers & Wilkins audio system and a badge featuring the signature of Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum.

Power will be provided by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 510 bhp (380 kW) and 461 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque. It will enable the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and onto a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
