Could have 40 HP more than Supercharged variant
A prototype of the 2015 Range Rover Sport RS wearing a blue & white body wrap was spotted testing prior to an official announcement scheduled for the second half of the year.
Those who aren't satisfied with the Range Rover Sport Supercharged will be happy to hear a more powerful version is in the works which will likely feature a V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine outputting 550 HP (405 kW) and 501 lb-ft (680 Nm). It will pack an additional 40 HP (29 kW) and 40 lb-ft (55 Nm) over the current range-topping variant and should complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in less than five seconds.
The prototype seen here wears a special blue and white body wrap hiding a more aggressive front fascia with bigger air intakes and a mesh grille. At the back there will be a quad exhaust setup and a diffuser, while stopping those big black alloy wheels will be a beefier braking system.
Land Rover will probably show the Range Rover Sport RS before the end of the year ahead of the model's market launch in early 2015.
