2014 Honda Fit Hybrid 19.07.2013
Goes on sale in Japan this September
[update] Additional photos added.
These are the first official (and confirmed) images with the 2014 Honda Fit/Jazz.
We have seen several leaked photos with the new Fit/Jazz but these are the first ones published by Honda showing a design with some influences from the 2012 Insight with angular headlamps and a large front bumper. The back of the car looks quite busy with its Volvo-inspired taillights, ventilated bumper and the chrome trim from one taillight to the other.
These images are also depicting the hybrid version which makes use of a new four-cylinder, 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine working together with a high-output electric motor, lithium-ion battery and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Thanks to this setup, the 2014 Honda Fit/Jazz Hybrid achieves a fuel economy of 36.4 km/l (85.6 mpg US / 102.8 mpg UK or 2.7 liters / 100 km).
The 2014 Honda Fit/Jazz Hybrid comes with a choice of three driving modes: EV, Hybrid and Engine, meaning it can run as a zero-emission electric car, as a hybrid or as a conventionally-powered vehicle.
Full details will be released closer to the car's launch in Japan scheduled for September.
