Chevrolet has made a host of technology related announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
First and foremost, the company will offer 4G LTE connectivity on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette, Impala, Malibu and Volt. Chevrolet will also offer the high-speed data connection on the Equinox, Silverado / Silverado HD, Spark / Spark EV and Trax (in Canada).
The 4G rollout will coincide with the launch of built-in Wi-Fi hotspots in a number of Chevrolet models. Pricing will be announced later this year but the hotspots will use AT&T's network just like the new OnStar 4G LTE connection.
Chevrolet also announced the MyLink infotainment system will have a new AppShop on select 2015 models. Planned apps are expected to include Vehicle Health, iHeartRadio, Priceline.com, The Weather Channel, NPR, Slacker Radio, TuneIn Radio, Cityseeker, Eventseeker, Glympse and Kaliki.
Last but not least, the company will introduce an upgraded OnStar system that will allow for "voice and high speed data services."
