Will be unveiled on January 12th

GMC has released a new teaser image of the 2015 Canyon, ahead of its debut at the North American International Auto Show.

The teaser image doesn't reveal much but GM's North American President, Mark Reuss, has previously said the company could position the model as a "semi-serious duty cycle truck."

Regardless, the Canyon will be heavily influenced by the Chevrolet Colorado so expect engine options to include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 193 bhp (144 kW) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque as well as a 3.6-liter V6 with 302 bhp (225 kW) and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque. The truck could also be offered with a 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine in 2016.

The GMC Canyon will be unveiled on January 12th, so stay tuned for full details.
