Filling every possible niche

The BMW 4-Series GranCoupe has received the digital treatment from AutoFans.be after patent drawings surfaced the web earlier this week.

BMW is trying to fill every possible niche and the latest example is a four-door coupe variant of the 3-Series Sedan or we can describe it as a 4-Series Coupe with rear doors (or a mini 6-Series GranCoupe). The vehicle will come with a slightly elongated wheelbase compared to the regular 4-Series which should increase legroom for rear passengers.

In terms of motorization we expect to find the same engines as in the 4-Series Coupe, including a 3.0-liter six-cylinder developing 300 bhp (224 kW) along with a lesser 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged motor rated at 240 bhp (179 kW).

An official unveil of the 4-Series GranCoupe will likely occur in the first half of 2014 so BMW could decide to show it in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
