Renault shows off their Urban Mobility Advanced Platform prototype [video]

Based on the Fluence Z.E

Renault has released a new video that showcases their Urban Mobility Advanced Platform (UMAP) prototype.

Based on the Fluence Z.E., the UMAP is a car-sharing prototype that features autonomous driving technology which enables the car to drive itself to a pickup location selected by users. Once the car arrives, the customer can unlock the vehicle by flashing a card in front of a reader that is located behind the windshield. The customer can then drive the prototype to their desired location without having to worry about returning the car because it can drive itself back to the car park.

Besides being outfitted with an autonomous driving system, the prototype has a wireless recharging system which automatically tops off the batteries when it returns to the parking facility.
