Tokyo Motor Show: Honda “Small Sports EV” is Electric and Awesome – On Paper

The 42nd Tokyo Motor Show hasn't left EVs out in the cold - there are a few fun prototypes making themselves known. One of those is Honda's new electric sports car, which Honda describes as thrillingly exciting and super awesome (the actual descriptive words used were "doki doki" and "waku waku" which is more or less the same thing, I swear).

The concept currently bears the distinctly unexciting working name of "Small Sports EV," but fans can expect that to change once a prototype actually materializes. Yoshinori Asahi from Honda's R&D division said the car's style and theme were "advanced excitement. If it's going to be electric, it must be cleanly developed. At the same time, we wanted to represent a sensation of high velocity."

Asahi went on to point out the line joining the hood to the front window, which he called a "monoform shape." He also emphasized the dynamic attachment of the fender to the front of the car, creating a sporty image. "Honda's proposed new electric sports car has combined a small size with a sensation of speed," Asahi said. "This EV is very exciting and has lots of appeal across the board."

While the sketches look pretty bad-ass, only time will tell if Honda puts its money where its mouth is and delivers a high-performance electric sports car. Do you think Honda will deliver? Let us know in the comments, below. Source: Response.jp | Images: Honda
