Aftermarket Drives Honda’s 2012 Civic Plans at SEMA
When the 2012 Honda Civic design debuted at Detroit's North American International Auto Show, a portion of the ninth-generation's car crowd could possibly be heard yawning to what they deemed more of a mild redesign. The underwhelming styling has apparently cut into the reputation for the new Civic regardless to the fact there is no indications core Honda aspirations of quality and value is unaffected. Perhaps caught off-guard by the rush of considerable advancement of competitor's compact cars, the 2012 Honda Civic's debut might not have been the thriller the Japanese auto brand is seeking.
While there will be no shortage of loyal Civic buyers eventually upgrading to the ninth-generation car, others left under-stimulated by the new compact vehicle will find the three creations based on the 2012 Honda Civic a reason for exhilaration.
Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe
A modified sport compact theme designated as a straight-liner performer, the Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe is maxed out with four-figure horsepower.
The Civic Si edition's K2427 engine undergoes a drastic retuning by Bisimoto to unleash deep, hidden potential few would expect from an economy car. Arias forged pistons, Supertech valvetrain, NGK Iridium spark plugs and a Golden Eagle intake manifold are some of the mild engine enhancements beefing up the Civic Si Coupe's 2.4 liter engine for what will be new heights in Honda performance. Supplied by Turbonetics, the Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe is jarred by an extreme turbocharger and intercooler kit. Requiring racing fuel to run at optimum performance, horsepower for this Bisimoto version of the Honda Civic is estimated in the range of at least 1,004 horsepower. Somewhat surprisingly, the Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si is advertised as street legal.
Wearing a Gatorwrap custom body wrap with Type 2 graphics, Bisimoto adds exterior body improvements to the 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe available through their Extreme Dimensions collection. Eins Gramm 18-inch aluminum wheels on high performance Falken tires allow the 1000-plus horsepower Bisimoto 2012 Honda Civic Si Couple and its race-spec chassis to sail across pavement. A Steen roll cage shields the car's interior featuring Buddy Club P1 racing seats.
Honda 2012 Civic Si Coupe HFP
Presented at the 2011 SEMA Show, Honda has made it easier for racers to prove the seemingly shy 2012 Civic does have the soul for demonstrating performance-oriented driving. The first of what will be only 500 United States-bound street worthy kits available for 2012 Civic Si Coupes, auto racing play a part in a factory-backed equipment grouping.
Developed by Honda Performance Development (HPD), the Honda Factory Performance (HFP) limited edition kit is a most comprehensive assortment of race-ready pieces. Starting with a full HFP body kit engineered for superior aerodynamics, the exterior pieces come in one of seven body matching colours. The entire HPD Civic Si Coupe is 15 millimeters (0.59 inches) lower in overall ride as high-performance springs and dampers is designed to provide well-suited handling as well as balance. The HFP edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe rides on 18-inch HFP alloy wheels. HFP emblems are included on the HPD 2012 Civic Si Coupe is carpeted floor mats illuminated by red ambient lighting.
Fox Marketing 2012 Civic Si Coupe
A design firm with a main focus for preparing promotional material for businesses, Fox Marketing has been making a name for itself after customizing 69 vehicles before the 2011 SEMA Show. Becoming Fox Marketing's 70th automotive design project, their 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe show car beams with Ultrasonic Blue Pearl beauty. A combination of 18 aftermarket suppliers and partners, the Fox Marketing 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe enhances the essence of the compact coupe. Outfitted with aftermarket side skirts as well as front and rear bumper covers, the CarBodyKits.com look provides a sporty but sophisticated look. Sourced from Vossen Wheels, CV3 brushed aluminum 20-Inch wheels are equipped on the Fox Marketing 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe encapsulated in Toyo tires. Yonaka Ronin Black leather seats and a custom rear leather seat are found inside of the sport compact show car wearing Si inserts.
Under the hood of the Fox Marketing 2012 Civic Si Coupe, the Honda 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine has a wide array of racing-caliber components. A BorgWarner EFR turbocharger (a forced-air unit identical to that equipped on Honda's 2012 INDYCAR powerplant) is combined with an intercooler in an effort to truly let the engine belt some serious performance numbers. Combined with a cat-back exhaust and some high-flow fuel injection parts, the Fox Marketing 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe produces over 450 horsepower.
Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan
Unlike the other three leading 2012 Honda Civic SEMA Show vehicles, the Tjin Edition has customized a sedan version of the popular compact car.
While a Magnaflow exhaust system and Nitrous Express performance-boosting unit is fitted to the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan, changes exercised on this vehicle are more well rounded. Featuring a front bumper and rear spoiler acquired from Unique Fabrication, the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan is covered with a Wraptivo custom wrap. The exterior details are accented by a Thule roof rack on the modified 2012 Civic. Taking a radical, non-conformist approach to design, the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan most notable distinguishing item from other custom SEMA creations rests within Falken tires. Mismatched colouring for the RotiForm 19-inch wbeels sees orange used on the driver side and purple on the passenger side.
Inside, leather seating and inserts from LR Interiors decks out the cabin area. Realm Audio supplies the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan with improved stereo sound through speakers, dual amplifiers and subwoofers. For cases when a baby's lullaby is pumping out of the Tjin Edition 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan's speakers, a young child rides in Recaro baby seats.

Toyota Promises Fuel-Cell Vehicles on Sale by 2015
Japanese car firm Toyota is already a world leader in hybrid technology. Now it seems, Toyota wants to have a similar strangle hold of the fuel-cell market.
According to vice-president of product planning and marketing for Toyota Europe, Alain Uyttenhoven, Toyota is planning on selling a few thousand fuel-cell vehicles starting in 2015. Sales are expected to be low due to the price required to make the vehicles. Since the technology is new and thus expensive to produce, each vehicle could sell for as much as $138,000.
The price means that it would attract the most eco-minded drivers and government agencies looking to put more green in their footprint.
For 2012, Toyota will offer a plug-in hybrid version of the Prius along with the regular Prius models. The plug-in version uses the same Hybrid Synergy Drive system as the regular version, but since it has a much larger 4.4 kwh lithium-ion battery pack, it can travel 13-miles on electric mode alone. Since the battery pack is not very big, it takes just 3-hours to fully charge from a standard 120v household outlet, or just 1.5-hours from a 240v system. Once the battery is depleted, you can continue the journey using the normal Prius hybrid drive system.
2013 Nissan GT-R: What’s New
After the Nissan GT-R's mild refresh last year, which included a more powerful engine, Nissan is back at it again, adding more power and refinement to the sports car for the 2013 model year.
Upgrades include numerous engine, transmission and suspension changes that'll further hone in the GT-R's already legendary performance.
The engine gets enlarged air intakes and an improved exhaust, which helps improve power: The twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 is now rated at 545 horsepower (up 15 hp from 2012) and 463 pounds-feet of torque (up 15 pounds-feet).
The transmission shift feel and quietness has been improved, too, says Nissan. High-performance differential oil is now standard on all models.
The suspension has been retuned, as well. Feature updates include a now standard backup camera and a new blue-lit tachometer.
The 2013 GT-R will be offered in two trims, GT-R Premium and GT-R Black Edition. First introduced last year, the Black Edition trim adds custom red-and-black Recaro-brand seats and interior trim as well as a black headliner.
The 2013 Nissan GT-R will roll out to select Nissan dealerships starting in January.

Tokyo Motor Show: Honda “Small Sports EV” is Electric and Awesome – On Paper
The 42nd Tokyo Motor Show hasn't left EVs out in the cold - there are a few fun prototypes making themselves known. One of those is Honda's new electric sports car, which Honda describes as thrillingly exciting and super awesome (the actual descriptive words used were "doki doki" and "waku waku" which is more or less the same thing, I swear).
The concept currently bears the distinctly unexciting working name of "Small Sports EV," but fans can expect that to change once a prototype actually materializes. Yoshinori Asahi from Honda's R&D division said the car's style and theme were "advanced excitement. If it's going to be electric, it must be cleanly developed. At the same time, we wanted to represent a sensation of high velocity."
Asahi went on to point out the line joining the hood to the front window, which he called a "monoform shape." He also emphasized the dynamic attachment of the fender to the front of the car, creating a sporty image. "Honda's proposed new electric sports car has combined a small size with a sensation of speed," Asahi said. "This EV is very exciting and has lots of appeal across the board."
While the sketches look pretty bad-ass, only time will tell if Honda puts its money where its mouth is and delivers a high-performance electric sports car. Do you think Honda will deliver? Let us know in the comments, below. Source: Response.jp | Images: Honda
Redesigned 2012 Honda CR-V To Launch On Schedule
Good news for family buyers waiting for the new 2012 Honda CR-V small crossover SUV: Honda plans to launch the redesigned CR-V on schedule.
This comes just a week after Honda warned that supply shortages caused by Thai floods could delay the debut of the popular crossover.
As reported in Automotive News (subscription required) via TheCarConnection, Honda notified its dealer body by memo yesterday that the 2012 Honda CR-V would arrive on-time after all.
What had been at issue were "a few critical electronic parts" sourced from Thailand for the CR-V. That problem has apparently been resolved.
John Mendel, American Honda executive vice president of sales, told dealers in the memo that Honda has made "significant progress in finding alternative manufacturing facilities or new suppliers or parts that are currently sourced from Thailand."
With the CR-V being one of its core products, Honda is undoubtedly doing everything it can to ensure consumers can get their hands on the 2012 model according to launch schedule.
Through October, Honda has posted CR-V sales of 180,361, up 11.1 percent over year-ago levels. The CR-V is Honda's third best-selling product, behind the Accord and Civic, with year-to-date sales of 203,603 and 183,557, respectively.
Look for the production version of the five-passenger 2012 Honda CR-V to bow at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show next week, while the crossover should be in dealer showrooms in December.

Peugeot 208 GTi Pikes Peak in the works - report
Peugeot 208 GTI
Could have up to 230 HP (169 kW)
Peugeot is reportedly preparing to launch a 208 GTi Pikes Peak Edition.
Designed to celebrate Sebastien Loeb's record setting run in the 208 T16 Pikes Peak earlier this year, the model will reportedly be based on the 208 GTi and feature a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that develops an extra 20-30 HP (15-22 kW). This would bring the car's output up to 220-230 HP (162-169 kW) which should enable it to outperform the standard model that runs from 0-100 km/h in less than seven seconds and has a top speed in excess of 225 km/h (140 mph).
If that's not impressive enough, there's also word of a possible 208 R that could use the 1.6-liter THP engine that produces 270 HP (198 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque.
2014 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado leaked for a second time [videos]
Should debut shortly
Several videos of the 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado have surfaced on YouTube following a leak earlier this week.
Looking far more controversial than its predecessor, the facelifted model has a new front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by distinctive headlights. The other changes are more conservative but include a revised tailgate and new taillights.
The exterior styling changes won't win everyone over but the cabin retains the high-quality feel of its predecessor. The differences are hard to spot but appear to include revised switchgear and updated trim.
Engine options are expected to carryover so look for an assortment of familiar petrol and diesel units.

Ferrari 458 Speciale 2014
Ferrari has revealed the most powerful version of its 458, the 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale which will have its public debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The 458 Speciale is a completely new, uncompromising, streamlined sports car concept.
The 2014 458 Speciale gets the familiar 4.5-liter V-8 engine found in the 458 Italia. For 458 Speciale the engine delivers a total of 597 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque delivered at 6,000 rpm. Ferrari claims that thanks to the 133 horsepower per liter, the 458 Speciale's engine is the most powerful road-going naturally aspirated engine.
The 458 Speciale can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.0 seconds (0-200 km/h in 9.1 seconds) and also clocked a lap time of just 1:23.5 at the Fiorano Circuit.
Aerodynamic requirements guided the work of the Ferrari Styling Centre, to ensure they were more performance-oriented than ever. The most notable features in this sense are the front and rear movable aerodynamics which balance down force and cut drag.
One of the most innovative features of the 458 Speciale is the Side Slip angle Control system (SSC). It performs instant-to-instant analysis of the car's side slip and compares it with the target value based on speed, grip levels and other metrics. It optimizes both torque management and torque distribution between the two wheels (via braking).
The car also gets Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tyres which were specifically honed for it and help it to achieve highest lateral acceleration (1.33 g) ever achieved by a car in the Prancing Horse range.
Senner Tuning Nissan Juke Nismo 2014
Senner Tuning has unveiled their tuning program for the Nissan Juke Nismo, one of the hot sellers, especially in Europe.
Senner Tuning has endowed the Nismo in black metallic Z11 with a set of Barracuda Tzunamee rims in the special version "Glossy Black" with red spoke emblems and red hub caps. The housing of the external mirror in blazing candy red made of carbon gives the rims a perfect match. It is equipped with lowering springs reducing the ride height by 35 mm.
The successful conversion is rounded up by a special Philips Silver Vision Chromium flashing bulbs, an LED license plate illuminating system and a set of LED daytime running lights.
Performance is upgraded by installation of a high-flow air filter, an optimized ECU and a stainless steel sports exhaust system. The 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine now develops 225 HP (165 kW) and 275 Nm (202 lb-ft) of torque.
The price of the new vehicle including extra equipment and tuning is EUR 37,650 ($50,605).

L.A. Auto Show: Meet the Chevy Spark
Once upon a time, American automakers refused to make a good, small car. Whether you want to blame union wages or coporate nickel-and-diming, American automakers and in particular GM simply could not produce a small car that could compete...at least here in America. But in other countries, like India, where small cars are all the rage, GM was able to compete, if not dominate, the market. But times are a-changin' my friends, and these days companies like GM have no choice but to produce cheap, fuel efficient car. I thought they were going to stop at the sub-compact Sonic, but I was wrong, as GM unveiled a veritable Skittles rainbow of cute, pastel-colored Chevy Spark mini-cars.
The Spark is mostly a carry-over from the foriegn market Chevy Beat, but with a few key aesthetic changes. The 1.2 liter four-cylinder engine delivers just 85 horsepower and 82 ft-lbs of torque, while delivering 40+ highway MPG and 30+ city MPG. The Chevy Spark also gets a whole lot of technology like a 7-inch touchscreen on the center console, standard air conditioning and power windows, and Bluetooth/Pandora connectivity.
Chevy didn't make any mention of the Chevy Spark EV, which we assume is still a few months away from officially breaking cover. And if you ask me, the colors Chevy decided to show off were decidedly...girly. I much prefer the Chevy Sonic myself. On the same token, there aren't many people my age that can afford much in the way of a new car, and if Chevy can keep the price of the Spark low enough, they might have a real winner.
Porsche Panamera GTS
Following in the Cayenne GTS' footsteps from three years ago, the Panamera is getting introduced to its own GTS package. Porsche has unveiled the new Panamera GTS which will go on sale in February 2012. US prices will be announced at a later date.
The GTS in the car's name stands for Gran Turismo Sport and promises the same extraordinary Porsche performance that started with the legendary 904 Carrera GTS back in 1963. The Panamera GTS uses a modified 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, the same engine used in the 4S trim model, but it now develops 30 hp and 14.75 lb.-ft. of torque more. It also has a faster-revving engine with a maximum engine speed that has been increased by 400 rpm to 7,100 rpm.
Next to more power, the GTS has also received a more aggressive design thanks to reduction of ten millimeters in ride height, a high-gloss black exterior package, upgraded brakes, and a sportier interior.

Audi A1 Spawns Five-Door Sportback: Forbidden Fruit
Audi A1 Sportback
Audi's pint-sized A1 hatchback has proven to be a relative success for the automaker in the markets it's sold in, thanks mostly to its promise of genuine luxury in the compact class. Now Audiis expanding the range with a new five-door variant.
Called a "Sportback" in Audi-speak, the new five-door A1 goes on sale in Europe early next year with no less than six engine options: three TFSI gasoline and three TDI diesel engines producing between 86 and 185 horsepower.
While most come with a standard six-speed manual or optional automatic, some can be equipped with a seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission.
The most powerful model in the range features a supercharged and turbocharged TFSI engine developing 185 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. It will accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 7.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 141 mph. If this isn't enough, Audi is working on a high-performance RS1 version which could develop as much as 250 horsepower.
The close relationship with its three-door sister model is evident in the design, the structure of the lightweight body, and the dimensions of the A1 Sportback-overall length is 12.96-feet and the lightest version tips the scales at 2,348 pounds.
Inside, Audi fits four seats as standard though customers can opt for a fifth seat at no extra charge. And, in order to keep its promise of luxury, Audi has fitted the A1 Sportback with several high-end solutions in terms of controls and infotainment, including Audi Connect Internet connectivity. If the high-end media center MMI navigation plus is combined with the Bluetooth online car phone, the car can be connected to the Internet.
Prices in Europe will start at 16,950, which is a little under $23k at current exchange rates. Note, customers can also opt to have the roof painted a different color to the body and add some S Line accessories for a sportier touch.
Sadly, like the current A1 three-door, there's no chance of this new A1 Sportback coming to the U.S. but Audi has admitted that it's considering launching the next-generation A1 Stateside sometime in the future.
Los Angeles 2011: Jaguar Sells All US XKR-S Convertibles
Jaguar only released the 2012 XKR-S Convertible this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, however, reports from MotorAuthority are already suggesting that all 25 US-bound models have been sold. Whether or not this was purely on customers visiting the stands, that's still an impressive sales rate. We first received official information about the powerful drop-top Jaguar just seven days ago. Sales were no doubt induced by the wonderful white example on display at the show, starting today.
The Jaguar XKR-S Convertible features a supercharged V8 engine producing 550hp and 680Nm of torque. As far as performance goes, top speed is an even 300km/h and 0-100km/h takes just 4.4 seconds. The XKR-S Convertible is basically a drop-top XKR-S. As a result, it features the active exhaust system, lightweight aluminium structure, revised suspension and aerodynamic tweaks.
The XKR-S Convertible will sit alongside the C-X16 Production Concept at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show for today, 18th November, until 27th November. So if you're in the area, it's well worth a look!

Introducing 2013 Ford Mustang GT
Ford Mustang gets a new design for the 2013 model year in the form of new front and rear fascias, a more prominent grille and splitter, standard high-intensity discharge headlamps, signature lighting, painted body-side rockers, dramatic LED taillamps, mirrors with pony projection light and a new wheel lineup.
Ford Racing started with a 2013 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe powered by the revamped 5.0L V8 - packing 420 stock horsepower and 390lb-ft of torque (also in stock form) - but this Mustang GT is far from stock. To enhance the performance, Ford Racing has added their own street legal supercharger package featuring a 2.3L Whipple supercharger unit, a Ford Racing aluminum radiator kit, Ford Racing quad outlet exhaust (a similar setup to what is found on the Boss 302 with both side and rear exit exhaust) and an engine oil cooler. The folks from Ford Racing haven't stated just how much power they are making with this project car but the Ford Racing/Whipple 2.3L supercharger package alone is good for 624 horsepower.
The new GT500 Convertible will carry all the design elements from the coupe model, meaning you will get the same aggressive and sporty car, in a topless version of course. The Shelby GT500 is distinguished from the other Mustangs in the line-up by a more aggressive exterior look with a signature coiled Cobra badge on the front grille and front fenders. It also separates itself with a unique aluminum power dome hood with functional heat extractors and unique Shelby front and rear fascias, rear diffuser, and decklid spoiler. Both coupe and convertible versions come with racing stripes on both the top and the sides with 19 painted forged-aluminum wheels rolling at the bottom.
The 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302, meanwhile, also receives a new hood with heat extractors and a more aggressive front splitter. The Boss also rocks SYNC for the first time, and new reflective hockey-stick graphics are are also available. Boss 302 buyers will also be able to choose a new Parnelli-Jones-approved School Bus Yellow paint scheme. We like it. Expect to see the 2013 Ford Mustang land on dealer lots in the spring of 2012. Hit the jump for the full press releases.

2013 Nissan 370Z Goes on Sale in June
The 2013 370Z gets an updated front fascia with vertical LED daytime running lights and a new red reflector has been added to the rear. 370Z models with the sport package get revised 19-inch alloy wheels, while the other 370Z models get new 18-inch wheels. Sport package models also get new euro-tued shock absorbers. Two new exterior colors round out the changes (Magma Red and Midnight Blue).
The 2013 370Z is powered by a 332 horsepower 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine and choice of 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission. For even more power, buyers can opt for the NISMO 370Z that is powered by a 350-hp 3.7L V6 and a standard close-ratio 6-speed manual.
The most notable visual change on the 370 Coupe and Roadster (but not the Nismo Z) is a freshened front fascia with vertical LED daytime running lights. The base 370Z Coupe also gets new wheels.
The optional Sport package comes with Euro-tuned shocks, revised 19-inch alloy wheels and red brake calipers.
The Nismo Z gets a new Bose premium audio package with two additional speakers and two subwoofers, premium gun-metallic dark-finish 19-inch wheels, and GT-R-style high-rigidity brake hoses and performance brake fluid.
Nissan decided not to tinker under hood, so the 3.7-liter, VQ37VHR V-6 is still rated at 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque (350 hp and 276 lb-ft in the Nismo). The six-speed manual transmission is still standard, while a seven-speed auto is optional on all models except the Nismo. Pricing should be announced closer to June 2012, the Z's scheduled on-sale date.

Ram Rumble Bee Concept teased ahead of Woodward Dream Cruise debut
Ram Rumble Bee Concept teaser photo 15.08.2013
Will be unveiled on Saturday
Following an announcement made earlier this week, Ram has released two teaser photos with their concept for the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise which will be showcased starting Saturday.
Ram didn’t disclose any details about the concept but judging by these teaser pics we assume it’s the Rumble Bee featuring a bright yellow paint scheme, dual-scoop hood and beefy five-spoke black alloys shod in low-profile rubbers.
On the inside there’s a honeycomb pattern on the eight-speed automatic dial shifter, along with a button which probably changes the exhaust note to a more aggressive tone. Chances are the Ram Rumble Bee Concept is powered by a big HEMI engine.
2014 MINI interior revealed almost in full in latest spy pics
2014 MINI spy photo 15.08.2013 / carnewschina.com
Arriving on November 18
These are the most revealing spy photos with the 2014 MINI's cabin, ahead of the car's unveiling scheduled for November 18.
At the beginning of the month we brought you several pics with the new MINI’s interior but these latest ones are considerably better. While the previous photos were depicting a more high-end version since it had a large touchscreen display in the middle, this one spied in China is a lesser model judging by its small center display.
Without any doubt the most significant change is the repositioning of the speedometer on the driver's side, next to the smallish tachometer. The cabin looks a bit cluttered since there are lots of buttons and knobs, while the seats come with bottom cushions which will likely be an optional feature. The door panels remain hidden but we do notice the fairly stylish chrome circular door handles.
The all-new MINI will hit the market in the first quarter of next year.

Prior Design previews their BMW M6
Prior Design BMW M6 PD6XX 15.8.2013
The styling package is currently under development
Prior Design has released the first pictures of their PD6XX widebody kit for the BMW M6.
The styling package is currently under development but it appears to feature an aggressive front bumper, a carbon fiber front lip spoiler and carbon fiber canards. We can also see a ventilated hood, revised side skirts, a roof scoop and extended wheel arches. Out back, there's a prominent rear wing and a new bumper with an integrated diffuser.
Interior changes are relatively limited but seem to include custom upholstery and special badging.
There's no word on any performance modifications but the standard model has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops 560 HP (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) or 305 km/h (189 mph) with the M Driver's Package.
Porsche 918 Spyder revealed in production guise
Porsche 918 Spyder production version 15.8.2013
Will be shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
Porsche has tweeted a photo of the "latest production version" of the 918 Spyder.
Set to be showcased at Pebble Beach, the model looks virtually identical to the pre-production prototype that made its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.
Porsche didn't have much to say about the car but previously confirmed it will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a mid-mounted 4.6-liter V8 engine, two electric motors and a 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. The engine produces 608 HP (447 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque, while the motors contribute 156 HP (115 kW) and 129 HP (95 kW). This setup enables the car to have a combined maximum output of 887 HP (661 kW) and more than 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque.
Thanks to these impressive numbers, the 918 Spyder can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 7.9 seconds and 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) in 23.0 seconds. Given enough room, the model can eventually hit a top speed in excess of 340 km/h (211 mph). More importantly, the Porsche 918 Spyder will average approximately 3.3 L/100km (85.6 mpg UK / 71.2 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of roughly 79 g/km.

Mercedes-Benz Citan minivan targeted for urban use
Mercedes-Benz announced a new compact delivery van, and revealed sketches of the future pint-sized commercial vehicle. Calling its new van the Citan, Mercedes says the name is a combination of the words "city" and "titan." The vehicle will be developed with customer requirements in mind, according to Mercedes, and will debut at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany this September.
That's all well and good, but as far as these official sketches go, the product appears to be a heavily restyled Renault Kangoo. If so, this would make the Citan the first official fruit of the Daimler-Renault/Nissan alliance, which promised to yield new engines for Infiniti, a new Smart car platform, among other ventures.
The Citan will join Mercedes' other commercial van offerings, which include the Vario, Sprinter, and Vito. Mercedes plans to broaden its range in the lower-weight van class with the Citan. Mercedes says that class was once a small niche in the commercial van market in the mid-'90s, but has since grown to around 700,000 units annually today. With the Citan's introduction, Mercedes hopes to significantly boost sales, and gain 4-5 percent market share of the emerging small van segment.
Engine options for the Citan will be made up of a wide range of diesel and gasoline powerplants with Mercedes' BlueEfficiency package. An electric-drive version is also in the works, according to Mercedes. The vehicle will be offered as a panel van, passenger-hauling crew bus, and multi-purpose vehicle, and will be available in a variety of lengths and weights.
