Fiat 500 EV - 24.10.2011 / SB-Medien
An EV and a high-performance drop top
The Los Angeles Auto Show has revealed the Fiat 500E and Fiat 500 Abarth Convertible will be unveiled at the event.
Details are limited, but the 500E will be one of three electric vehicles that will debut at the annual motor show. Our spies have already caught the model undergoing testing and it looks virtually identical to the standard 500 but could feature revised bumpers. Fiat has been quiet on specifications, but rumors suggest the model will feature a lithium-ion battery and a 100 bhp (75 kW) electric motor.
The Fiat 500 Abarth Convertible, on the other hand, will feature “aggressive rally styling” and a turbocharged engine. The press release states it will displace 1.6-liters, but it will likely be a 1.4-liter unit that develops 160 bhp (119 kW) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque.
