TV personality Guy Fieri first burst into mainstream consciousness when he won "The Next Food Network Star" reality show back in 2006. Since then, Fieri has become a successful restaurateur, author, television personality, and game show host.

Lost in all that though is the fact that Fieri is also a bonafide car nut with an affinity for Chevrolet convertibles. Well, the spiky-haired Fieri was put to the task by the fine folks at Chevy to design his very own Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition, which will be on hand at the 2012 SEMA Auto Show.

True to his flamboyant personality, Fieri’s influence can be easily seen on the limited edition Corvette sports car. The body color is dominantly black with custom yellow stripes, a reversal play on the company’s trademark yellow-and-black color scheme. In addition, the Fieri-designed 427 Corvette received embroidered seat headrests, as well as fender badges, which both prominently display the man’s personal charity, the Guy Fieri Foundation.

Adding the final touches to the limited run sports car are a new set of 19" black Cup wheels wrapped in Michelin PS2 tires.

The 427 Corvette also boasts of power never before seen in a convertible in the Corvette’s history. It carries a 7.0-liter LS7 engine from the Z06 that produces 505 horsepower and 470 lb/ft of torque, making it the most powerful engine ever put into a production Corvette convertible.

From a man who knows a thing or two about grabbing attention, Guy Fieri’s 427 Corvette Convertible will likely do the same when it debuts at the 2012 SEMA Auto Show.

Official: Inferno Orange Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible

Inferno Orange Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible

The last 2012 COPO Camaro debuted today at the SEMA Show, in Las Vegas, and it's headed to the auction block. Chevrolet will sell the Inferno Orange Metallic convertible race car at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, in January, to benefit the American Heart Association.

The model shown here is one of 69 COPO Camaro race cars built by Chevrolet for 2012 - and it's car number 69 of the sequenced production matched to its engine. It is one of only two convertibles built - the other being car number 68 (which has been set aside by Chevrolet and isn't planned for public sale).

Next to that, it is also one of twenty cars built with the 327 engine and 4.0L supercharger and the only 2012 COPO Camaro painted Inferno Orange Metallic featuring additional custom graphics and special interior trim. This only example will be built with a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission. The top is fully operational, although it must be up when racing, per NHRA rules.

All COPO Camaro were built by hand starting with hardware from the Oshawa assembly plant that manufactures regular-production Camaros, including the same "body in white" body shells racers can purchase from Chevrolet Performance to build their own dedicated race car.

Although only 69 production models were built for 2012, many of the fundamental components used to create the cars - including all of the hand-assembled racing engines - are available from Chevrolet Performance and the licensed aftermarket manufacturers who supplied them.

Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champ Tony Stewart has received its personal Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and we had a closer look at the car at the SEMA 2012. Stewart visited the GM Design Center to work with Chevrolet Design Manager Dave Ross to design the supercharged sports car.

The collaboration delivered a custom gray metallic exterior accented with tribal and Smoke graphics in flat red and silver pinstripes. The headlamp lenses were tinted and feature red halo lighting. It rolls on custom wheels with a Piano Black finish and red accents.

Inside, Stewart's ZL1 feature Jet Black leather seats with suede inserts and scarlet accent stitching, as well as embroidered Tony Stewart signatures on the seats, suede leather door panel inserts and instrument panel wrapping with laser-etched details, Jet Black leather door armrests with French stitching and white piping, Jet Black suede leather-wrapped steering wheel with scarlet accent stitching and Piano Black trim plates and gauge cluster bezel.

The heart of the car is the supercharged 6.2 liter LSA engine rated at 580 horsepower. Zero to 60mph is done in four seconds and a top speed of 184mph.
