Audi R8 GT runs red light and T-bones Range Rover Evoque

Audi R8 GT and Range Rover Evoque crash in Johannesburg / JHB North Medix

R8 driver fled the scene

The driver of an Audi R8 GT ran a red light in an intersection and T-boned a Range Rover Evoque.

It happened several days ago on the corner of Witkoppen and Leslie in Johannesburg, South Africa where the driver of a limited-run Audi R8 GT didn't stop at a red light and caused a collision with a Range Rover Evoque. Immediately after the accident, the R8 GT driver fled the scene while the person driving the Evoque was transported to the hospital with some injuries but will be ok.

Judging by the damages sustained in the accident, both cars are likely complete wrecks and will be deemed write-offs. It is believed only about three or four R8 GTs are in Johannesburg, out of a total production of 333 coupes (and 333 Spyders).
