Goes on sale next spring

Infiniti has introduced an entry-level Q50 at the Guangzhou Motor Show.

Set to go on sale in China next spring, the Q50 has a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine that produces 211 bhp (157 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. Despite being sourced from Mercedes-Benz, engineers retuned the engine to ensure it is "in line with Infiniti’s brand characteristics."

Performance specifications were not released but Infiniti confirmed the engine will eventually be offered in international markets.

As we have previously reported, the Q50 is already available with a Mercedes-sourced 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 170 HP (125 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 9 seconds and hit a top speed of approximately 230 km/h (143 mph).
