Ferrari has introduced the F12 Berlinetta Tour de France 64 special edition during the Dream Cars Show in Brussels, Belgium.
The limited edition vehicle is the latest creation of the Tailor Made customization program of the brand and is also exhibited by Francorchamps Motors. It pays homage to the Ecurie Francorchamps team and the 250 GTO in which Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger won the 1964 Tour de France Automobile.
The F12 Berlinetta sports an Argento Auteil body color with a triple-layer cross-stripe on the bonnet that is “a modern take on the original Modena yellow used by the Ecurie Francorchamps”. The interior has a Mahagoni leather seats for “a vintage look”, SuperFabric floor mats and boot trim and side panels wrapped in Mycro Prestige, “a soft, light, water-repellent and breathable fabric”. The dashboard is finished in aluminum with yellow detailing on the door handles.

British media is reporting the Audi TT offroad concept will morph into a production version in 2017.
Audi has already confirmed a third body style is being preparing for the TT family and they "warned" us it will most likely take the shape of a crossover. Now, CAR says the project has green-lighted for a 2017 launch and the car will essentially be an evolution of the TT offroad concept unveiled at last year's Beijing Motor Show.
The model was originally supposed to get the Q4 moniker but since there's a dispute between Volkswagen and FCA for the rights to use the Q2 and Q4 names, Audi had no other way but to think of a different designation. As a consequence, the high-riding model will likely be commercialized with the "TTQ" moniker to "avoid a confrontation with Fiat, we don't overcrowd the Q corral, and we add a fresh twist to the TT theme", according to an Audi insider.
Don't hold your breath for production versions of the TT allroad shooting brake and TT Sportback as these will not hit dealerships. As for the TTQ, it will be a sportier-looking alternative to the Q3, just like BMW is selling an X4 alongside the X3.
The Audi TTQ (name not confirmed) will probably go on sale sometime in 2017.

Arrivabene backs Lauda for F1 'revolution'

Ferrari has called for a rules "revolution" for formula one in 2017.
Upset with the mild tone of the new V6 engines and a dwindling audience, Bernie Ecclestone wants a radical change and this week he earned the backing of Mercedes' team chairman and F1 legend Niki Lauda.
"I want a car for the future that has 1,200 horse power, wide tyres - formula one needs to be faster and more difficult, as it once was," Lauda said.
Now, new Ferrari team boss Maurizio Arrivabene said: "I share Niki's view that formula one needs to be more spectacular and I believe that the risk he evokes of the sport losing fans is something that has unfortunately already happened."
In a statement posted on the Maranello team's website, Arrivabene called for "aesthetically more appealing" cars by 2017 that make noise akin to "a heavy metal band".
"However, I don't think a simple evolution is enough in this case," said the former Marlboro executive.
"Instead, a real revolution is called for, with significant and radical changes."

The next generation BMW 5-Series has been spied once more testing near the Arctic Circle ahead of an expected reveal next year.
BMW is currently putting the finishing touches on the flagship 7-Series but at the same time they are testing its smaller brother, the 5-Series. Both of them are sharing the newly developed "35up" platform and in the case of the "5" it should bring a significant 100 kg (220 lbs) diet as a result of mixing up lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum.
The design won't be that much different compared to the current model as BMW has decided to make only evolutionary changes in the same vein as the styling differences between the new 7-Series and the outgoing model. This particular prototype has an additional fuel cap in the left front wing which indicates the mid-size executive sedan will be available in a more frugal plug-in hybrid version with possibly a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbodiesel, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery providing a combined output of 245 HP & 400 Nm.
A quad turbo engine is expected to reside in an M550xd model where it will develop around 408 HP & 750 Nm while the range-topping M5 will get as much as 626 HP (460 kW) and an optional xDrive all-wheel drive system. At the other end of the spectrum, there are rumors of a new entry-level packing a three-cylinder 1.5-liter turbodiesel sourced from the 2-Series Active Tourer although it’s hard to believe it will actually happen especially taking into consideration the upcoming smaller 3-Series facelift is unlikely to receive the motor.
It is believed the new 5-Series will go on sale in July 2016 and will be followed in November of the same year by the Touring version. The oddball GT will make a comeback in 2017 primarily because for some reasons it's popular in China.

Honda has released detailed information and new photos about the facelifted Euro-spec CR-V SUV.
Introduced during the Paris Motor Show last year, the vehicle comes with a new 1.6-liter diesel unit with 160 HP (118 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque that replaces the old 2.2-liter i-DTEC diesel. The producer says it “delivers outstanding performance and low CO2 emissions” when fitted with a four-wheel drive and a newly developed 9-speed automatic gearbox, ensuring “one of the best power-to-consumption ratio of any engine on sale today”.
The front-wheel-drive variants of the CR-V are powered by a 120 HP (88 kW) version of the same engine that is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The 2015 CR-V also premieres Honda’s new Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC) system, capable of predicting and automatically reacting to other vehicles ‘cutting-in’ to the vehicle’s lane. Based on “extensive real-world research of typical European driving styles”, the system uses a camera and a radar to sense the position of other vehicles on the road. It then “applies an algorithm to predict the likelihood of vehicles in neighboring lanes cutting-in”.
The facelifted CR-V will be offered with the all-new Honda Connect in-car audio and information system that comes with DAB/FM/AM and internet radio, Bluetooth connectivity, internet browsing, satellite navigation and rear-view parking camera.

Theophilus Chin has created a virtual competitor for the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, called the Audi Q6.
The rendering is based on the new Audi Q7 and comes with a larger radiator grille, modified front bumper and redesigned headlights. The rear end somehow reminds us of the Audi A7 with smaller taillights.
From what we know so far, the German manufacturer is probably working on a Q6 but there’s nothing official yet. Some time ago, Audi boss Rupert Stadler commented that “we can imagine a model between the Q5 and the Q7... a coupe-like, four-wheel driven model”.

The New Acura NSX Is Finally Here!
After years of teasing us with the new-generation NSX, Acura has finally unveiled the final production version today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It's been 10 years since the last generation Acura NSX halted production, and Acura has delivered on their promise of an all new NSX. However, Acura is very tight lipped about final performance figures of the NSX for now.
The exterior of the new Acura NSX remains largely unchanged from the concept that Acura unveiled at the 2012 Detroit Autoshow. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it still looks very futuristic even today. It will be built on a chassis made from a mix of advanced materials, such as carbon fiber, an aluminum spaceframe, and high-strength steel alloys. Moreover, this is the first time that Acura has shown the interior of the car. Dubbed by Acura as the "human support cockpit", it looks to be a handsome interior with some styling flair to match the exterior, yet not overdone to the point of excess.
It has been known for quite some time that the new NSX will be powered by a hybrid powertrain system, not unlike the new Porsche 918 Spyder and it's competitors. Like the 918, the NSX will have a mid-mounted internal combustion engine, augmented by an electric engine on each axle. The internal combustion engine in question here is a twin-turbo longitudinally mounted V6. Acura hasn't specified the exact amount of combined horsepower, but they said it will be over 550 hp. Power will be handled by a proprietary nine speed dual clutch transmission developed by Honda specifically for the new NSX. It will also have Acura's SH-AWD system with an advanced torque-vectoring system. All these things combined mean that the NSX should be a component track car.
Pricing is expected to be around the $150,000 USD mark, which puts it squarely in the sights of the BMW i8, and probably the new Ford GT, which also unveiled today in Detroit. This price range has become a battle ground for new, innovative supercars. If you have the money to buy a car in this price range, you are seriously spoiled for choices right now.

PSA-based Opel mule spied, is it a new crossover?

A mysterious Opel mule has been spied in Northern Europe.
While the prototype is based on the Peugeot 2008, it features an extended wheelbase and a larger C-pillar. The model also has a Citroen steering wheel and an assortment of testing equipment.
However, the most telling detail is the German license plate and GG lettering. This reveals the mule is from Opel and not PSA Peugeot Citroen.
We're not entirely sure what this mule is for but GM is developing two models based on PSA platforms. They include a B-segment MPV and a C-segment crossover. Given the ride height and extended wheelbase, it seems possible that the mule could be the C-segment crossover which will be built at the PSA plant in Sochaux, France.

The Jeep Gladiator concept was introduced a decade ago and it appears the brand hasn't given up hope of eventually offering a production variant.
Speaking to Car Advice, Jeep CEO Mike Manly said he is a "big advocate" for a Wrangler-based pickup and believes it would be a perfect addition to their lineup.
Despite his optimism, Manly seemed to suggest Jeep didn't want to step on Ram's toes by producing a truck of their own. He also noted that the model would require a substantial level of investment even though it would be based on an existing model. As he explained, "I still have to make sure from an economic perspective it’s the right thing to do.”

What Car? has published extensive details concerning Volvo’s upcoming flagship sedan, the S90.
We already know it will replace the aging S80 in the lineup and that it will also spawn a V90 wagon designed after the stunning Concept Estate. The S90 will draw its styling cues from the Concept Universe unveiled back in 2011 at the Shanghai Auto Show and will ride on the same newly developed platform as the second-gen XC90 from where it will source just about all engines.
Expect the range-topping version to be the T8 Twin Engine which mixes up a four-cylinder 2.0-liter supercharged & turbocharged gasoline engine with a rear-mounted electric motor. In the XC90, this hardware combo grants a combined output of 400 HP (294 kW) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) and chances are the S90 will get an identical setup. The high-voltage battery pack should provide enough juice for an electric range of around 25 miles (40 km).
Set to be built in China, the Volvo S90 will likely be more expensive than the outgoing S80 but it is understandable taking into account it will be literally an all-new model thanks to the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) which will eventually be used on all medium to large Volvos.
The S90 is scheduled to go on sale in 2016 but it will probably be revealed in the second half of this year. Shortly after the sedan’s introduction, the aforementioned V90 wagon will follow and will probably share the same assembly line with the S90 at the Daqing factory in China where they continue to make the first XC90 sold locally with the “XC Classic” moniker.

S-Class project manager Martin Hulder has admitted more Maybach-badged products are on the way.
In the second half of November last year we heard S-Class development director Hermann-Joseph Storp saying more Maybach-labeled models will be launched if the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will prove to be a success. Now, S-Class project manager Martin Hulder told Autocar "the theory is that we will do more Maybach models", hinting at applying the luxury treatment on the company's biggest SUV, the GL.
The GL is about to get a mid-cycle facelift which will also come with a name change as Mercedes-Benz has revised its nomenclature and will use the GLS moniker for its flagship SUV as a connection to the similarly-sized S-Class. Mercedes-Benz has already confirmed the GLS will be out this year and based on previous spy shots the styling tweaks will be subtle. The Maybach variant will probably come with a stretched wheelbase as on the S-Class, along with a posher interior cabin while the exterior should get some Maybach-specific wheels and badges denoting the model's exclusivity.

The 2016 Jaguar F-Pace has been spied wearing a production body for the first time.
Previewed by the C-X17 concept, the production model has a rectangular grille that is flanked by large air intakes and XF-inspired headlights. The crossover has also a sculpted hood, an upward sweeping shoulder line and a sporty roof. Moving further back, there's wraparound taillights, a dual exhaust system and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.
Our spies couldn't get close enough to snap interior photos but Jaguar has previously said the F-Pace will be a five-seater with class-leading interior space, luxurious interior finishes and cutting-edge technology.
Jaguar has been tight-lipped about specifications but the model is expected to ride on the iQ[Al] platform and feature engines sourced from the entry-level XE sedan. This means we can expect a variety of four-cylinder Ingenium engines and possibly a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that develops 340 bhp (253 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque.
Audi dealers to use virtual reality to help customers configure their cars

Audi has announced plans to begin using virtual reality to give customers an "unprecedentedly realistic way" to view their cars months before they are built.
Dubbed the "Audi VR experience," the program will allow potential buyers to configure the company's entire lineup - with all possible equipment combinations - in a virtual environment.
Since they will be wearing a virtual reality headset, they can see and experience their individually configured car like never before. Customers will also wear Bang & Olufsen headphones will replicate everything from the sound of the doors closing to the 14 channel sound of the Advanced Sound System
According to Audi Sales and Marketing boss Luca de Meo, “Hand in hand with our dealers, we are bringing digital innovations into the dealership in order to improve convenience and to provide even better advice. With the Audi VR experience, we are once again demonstrating the pioneering role of the four rings in this area.”
The Audi VR experience will begin rolling out later this year and initially be focused in markets where the company is experiencing "dynamic growth."

Hyundai has taken the wraps off the all-new i10 which will get its public debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new generation of the i10 city car adopts a more evolved and mature design which matches the increased size. Compared to its predecessor, the new model is 80mm longer, 65mm wider and 50mm lower, while trunk capacity has been increased by 10 percent to 252 liters.
Hyundai says the 2014 i10 has the best cargo space and legroom in its class, with front and rear passengers benefiting from a combined legroom of 1890mm thanks to a 5mm longer wheelbase.
There are no details at this moment about engine lineup but chances are Hyundai will offer 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter and 4-cylinder, 1.25-liter gasoline power units. On the inside we expect to see climate control, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, along with safety features like front curtain airbags and stability control.
Production will commence next month at Hyundai's factory in Ízmit, Turkey.

Toyota has decided to discontinue the Tacoma X-Runner for the upcoming 2014 model year.
Introduced back in 2005, the Tacoma X-Runner has been officially cancelled by Toyota as the Japanese marque has announced the car won't be offered for 2014 model year. Toyota is still offering the SR Package for the Pre-Runner and 4x4 Access and Double Cab base grades for those on the look for a sporty-looking pickup with smoked headlamps and black 16-inch alloys.
The body of the 2014 Tacoma can now be painted in Silver Sky Metallic or Blue Ribbon Metallic, while on the inside the backup monitor image has been moved from the inner mirror to the headunit. Another change in the cabin is in the multimedia department where the Tacoma can receive various Entune Audio systems, including an Entune Premium JBL Audio setup.
