A new special edition and a host of model year updates


The deluge of Frankfurt Motor Show news continues as Chevrolet has revealed their lineup for the upcoming auto show.




First and foremost, the company will introduce a Spark Bubble Edition with bubble decals and white 15-inch alloy wheels. The model also has leatherette seats and color-coordinated trim.




Next up, the 2014 Aveo gains a standard rearview camera (on models equipped with MyLink infotainment system) and new mirrors with integrated LED turn signals on higher-end variants.




The 2014 Cruze offers a new MyLink infotainment system with GPS navigation, voice recognition technology and text-to-speech capability. Higher-end variants also have Side Blind Zone Alert and new mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. The model will also be offered with a new 1.7-liter diesel engine that produces 110 hp (81 kW) and has CO2 emissions of 99 g/km.




Moving on to the Orlando, there's restyled wheels and new mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. The MPV also gains Side Blind Spot Alert, Advanced Parking Aid and a new MyLink infotainment system with a seven-inch display. Last but not least, the turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine can now be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.




The 2014 Malibu, on the other hand, gains an upgraded 2.0-liter diesel engine with stop/start technology on manual variants. It enables the model to average 4.7 L/100 km (50 mpg US / 60.1 mpg UK) and have CO2 emissions of 125 g/km.




Lastly, the turbocharged 1.4-liter version of the Trax will be offered with front-wheel drive. When paired to a six-speed manual transmission, the model accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, averages 6.0 L/100km (39.2 mpg US / 47 mpg UK) and has CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.
