Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster

Lamborghini launched the SuperVeloce specification all the way back in the 1960s, first appearing on the Miura, the nameplate that basically introduced the world to the mid-engine supercar. Dropped when the Miura was discontinued, the SV name returned nearly 30 years later when Lambo showcased the Diablo SV at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show. Since then, every range-topping Lambo has gotten an SV version. There was a Murcielago SV, and the Aventador SuperVeloce was presented at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
But while the SV badge has graced four different supercars as of 2015, not all of then have been offered as roadsters. The Miura was built as a coupe only (except for a one-off roadster), while the only drop-top version of the Diablo was based on the less powerful VT. The Murcielago was the first SV to lose its roof and it seems the Aventador is ready to follow suit, as a supercar sporting the body kit of the recently unveiled SV was spotted stretching its wheels with a removable top.

Spy Shots: Lamborghini Cabrera Out Testing
Posted on 08.5.2013 19:00 by

Lamborghini Gallardo's successor is rumored to arrive in a concept version at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but it looks like the company is already testing the production version of the supercar. The car was recently caught testing in hot conditions and it's getting pretty clear that it will get an Aventador-inspired look. From the spy shots, we gather that the prototype will have dimensions similar to the Gallardo.
The successor to the Gallardo is rumored to carry the Cabrera name, which is, of course, the name of a famed Spanish bull. The new Cabrera will bring a series of new features and will be built on the same lightweight, carbon-fiber monocoque as the Aventador, which will make it about 60 pounds lighter than the current Gallardo.
Expect the production version of the Lamborghini Cabrera to be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The coupe version will be followed by a a number of variants in the years thereafter, including Spyder and the Superleggera models.

Video: Hear the New Lamborghini 5-95 by Zagato

width="460" height="370" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Z89iGjI1d58" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>
The virtual ink of our review of Zagato's Lamborghini 5-95 hasn't even dried yet and auto-razzi extraordinaire Marchettino already has a video of the supercar getting the superstar treatment at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. That didn't take long, did it?
It's hard to argue with those people craning their necks to get a good glimpse at the 5-95. The Zagato-built supercar is just that awesome. It has a drastically different design than the Lamborghini Gallardo the car that it was based on.
But the biggest thrill of Marchettino's video was hearing the 5-95 bust out its throaty roar. Sure, it carries the same 5.2-liter, V-10 engine of the Gallardo LP570-4 that produces 570 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. But the sound from its exhaust was not like that of the Gallardo. That's the sound of a true one-off exotic, the kind that only a refined design house like Zagato can build.

Report: Lamborghini Gallardo Successor Will Not be Called "Cabrera"
Posted on 12.6.2013 16:00 by Simona
Lamborghini already started teasing the Gallardo successor, and Lambo promised us the first details on it by Christmas. But, as Lamborghini tries to keep the model a secret, we continue to scour the web to find additional details on the new supercar.
Apparently our searching was worth the effort, as today we came across some interesting details on the upcoming supercar. These details were released by the folks at Only The Best, who apparently took a trip to Lamborghini's Sant'Agata Bolognese factory, where the new supercar and the Aventador will be produced, and caught a glimpse of the new car as the production-line door opened as they left the factory.
The other detail is that this new supercar will not be called the Cabrera as we believed. Instead Lamborghini opted for a completely different name that includes "LP600-4" - an indication of the 600 horsepower developed by the 5.2-liter, V-10 engine. Now, this isn't the first time we've heard that "Cabrera" will not be the official name, but this is one of the more hands-on reports that we've heard, given it actually happened...
The Gallardo's replacement will be developed on the same chassis as the second-generation Audi R8 and will feature some design elements from the Miura, like the grilles across the entire rear window.
According to Only The Best, the model looks like a stumpy version of the Aventador with a rear end that is pretty similar to the V-12 supercar. The guys report that the model they saw on the factory donned Lambo's signature Verde Ithaca paintjob.

Lamborghini Gallardo successor will get bull name and V10 engine
Posted on 10.20.2012 18:00 by
The Lamborghini Gallardo’s long, amazing run is coming to an end, but fear not, Gallardo enthusiasts, Lamborghini is already preparing the successor for the supercar. During a recent interview at the Sydney Auto Show, Lamborghini Commercial Director Fintan Knight offered a few more details on the model set to replace the legendary vehicle.
According to Knight, the Gallardo successor will continue Lamborghini’s tradition and will be named after a famous bull. We let our fingers do the talking and discovered that the Gallardo is one of five bulls in the famous Miura Cattle Ranch that also included: Cabrera, Navarra, Veragua, and Vistahermosa-Parlad bulls. This allows us to believe that the previous rumors of the Gallardo’s successor being called the Cabrera do in fact hold water.
Knight also confirmed that the new Gallardo will use technologies previously seen in the Sesto Elemento hypercar. As for the engine, he pointed that Lamborghini will remain faithful to the current naturally-aspired V10 engine. He also confirmed that no hybrid technology is being planned for the new Gallardo and that the end of the current generation will also mean the end of the manual transmission.
