Gumpert Apollo S duo arrives in Geneva

Gumpert Apollo S live in Geneva 2013

With 750 HP and 900 Nm

Gumpert is back in business and they've brought an Apollo S to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

Troubled German specialty marque has risen from its ashes now that it has a new unknown investor. A lineup expansion is in the works and later this year "at a major trade fair" they will launch an all-new model.

For the Swiss show they brought an Apollo S black and red duo packing a V8 4163cc engine with 750 HP (551.6 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 900 Nm (663.7 lb-ft) at 4,000 rpm. It will do 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 8.8 seconds.

There are three gearbox choices: a 6-speed fully-synchronized, a sequential with manual gear shift lever and an automatic electronic gear system with paddle shift. It boasts a chromium-molybdenum steel tube frame and a carbon/Kevlar monocoque with a carbon body shell and carbon/aluminum underbody. It stops efficiently thanks to its 378mm ventilated disc brakes with six-piston calipers on all four corners and rides on 19- or 20-inch alloys with central locking.

Other highlights include a removable steering wheel, LED daytime running lights, carbon fiber rear wing, double wishbone suspension for both axles, front anti roll bar, adjustable ground clearance and a high-performance ABS system.
