2014 BMW X5 spy photo 20.9.2012 / Automedia
Set to debut sometime next year
Our spies have managed to snap new pictures of the 2014 BMW X5.
Looking larger than its predecessor, the prototype is heavily camouflaged but appears to have an evolutionary design with a prominent grille and a sloping roofline. We can also see a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a dual exhaust system.
The luxurious interior is appointed with leather upholstery, wood trim and metallic accents. There's also a three-spoke steering wheel and a large iDrive display.
Engine options remain unconfirmed, but choices could include a 2.0-liter diesel with 245 hp (183 kW / 248 PS), a 3.0-liter diesel with 302 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 402 hp (300 kW / 408 PS). There could also be a hybrid variant with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine and an electric motor for a combined output of 335 hp (340 PS / 250 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque.
