Opel introduces a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine, will debut in the Adam

Opel has announced plans to introduce their new turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Dubbed the 1.0-liter SIDI Turbo, the engine has a die-cast aluminum block, direct injection and continuously variable valve timing. The mill has also been equipped with a twin displacement oil pump and a switchable water pump that can be disengaged during startup to improve fuel-efficiency and reduce warm up times.

The engine also has acoustically-optimized covers and an isolated fuel rail which helps it to set a new "benchmark for refinement in three-cylinder engines with noise and vibration characteristics superior to many four cylinder units."

Detailed specifications haven't been released but Opel says the engine will produce 115 HP (85 kW) and 166 Nm (122 lb-ft) of torque. It will also be 20 percent more fuel-efficient than the naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter unit.

The engine will be launched in the Adam next year and be mated to an all-new six-speed manual transmission that weighs just 37 kilograms (81 pounds) and promises to deliver superior shift quality.

Chevrolet reveals their Frankfurt lineup

A new special edition and a host of model year updates

The deluge of Frankfurt Motor Show news continues as Chevrolet has revealed their lineup for the upcoming auto show.

First and foremost, the company will introduce a Spark Bubble Edition with bubble decals and white 15-inch alloy wheels. The model also has leatherette seats and color-coordinated trim.

Next up, the 2014 Aveo gains a standard rearview camera (on models equipped with MyLink infotainment system) and new mirrors with integrated LED turn signals on higher-end variants.

The 2014 Cruze offers a new MyLink infotainment system with GPS navigation, voice recognition technology and text-to-speech capability. Higher-end variants also have Side Blind Zone Alert and new mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. The model will also be offered with a new 1.7-liter diesel engine that produces 110 hp (81 kW) and has CO2 emissions of 99 g/km.

Moving on to the Orlando, there's restyled wheels and new mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. The MPV also gains Side Blind Spot Alert, Advanced Parking Aid and a new MyLink infotainment system with a seven-inch display. Last but not least, the turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine can now be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2014 Malibu, on the other hand, gains an upgraded 2.0-liter diesel engine with stop/start technology on manual variants. It enables the model to average 4.7 L/100 km (50 mpg US / 60.1 mpg UK) and have CO2 emissions of 125 g/km.

Lastly, the turbocharged 1.4-liter version of the Trax will be offered with front-wheel drive. When paired to a six-speed manual transmission, the model accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, averages 6.0 L/100km (39.2 mpg US / 47 mpg UK) and has CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.

Toyota Vitz GRMN Turbo introduced in Japan

Toyota has quietly introduced the Vitz GRMN Turbo in Japan.

Previewed by a concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon, the production model is a three-door hatchback that has been equipped with an aggressive front bumper, revised side skirts and a massive rear diffuser. The car also has LED-infused headlights, a sports exhaust system, GRMN badging and 17-inch BBS aluminum wheels. It will be available exclusively in Black Mica or Super White II.

Interior changes are limited but include sports seats, revised instrumentation and a three-spoke steering wheel with red contrast stitching. We can also see special floor mats and alloy pedals.

Under the hood, the 1.5-liter engine has been equipped with a turbocharger which enables it to produce 152 HP (112 kW) and 206 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected exclusively to a five-speed manual transmission.

Rounding out the changes are a sport-tuned suspension and high-performance brakes.

Production will be limited to 200 units and pricing starts at ¥2,700,000 ($27,910 / €20,985 / £18,015). The company will begin accepting orders on August 25th and the cars will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Fernando Alonso test drives the LaFerrari [video]

Has a top speed in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

Ferrari has released a new video of Fernando Alonso test driving a LaFerrari prototype.

Alonso doesn't say thing in the clip, but Ferrari touts the fact that the F1 driver provided "valuable insights to the team of engineers and test drivers involved in bringing to life and developing this extraordinary car."

Speaking of the car, it features a 6.3-liter V12 engine that develops 800 HP (588 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. It is backed up by an electric motor which contributes an additional 163 HP (120 kW) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque. This enables the LaFerrari to have a combined maximum output of 963 HP (708 kW) which allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

The Lamborghini Veneno was only introduced a couple of months ago but one of the ultra-rare supercars has apparently gone up for sale.

Refined Marques claims to have acquired one of three cars that were built to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary. Unfortunately, the company only posted a single picture of the model at the Blancpain Super Trofeo in Monza so their story is hard to verify.

Regardless, the supercar features an Aventador-sourced 6.5-liter V12 engine that develops 750 HP (552 kW). It is connected to a seven-speed ISR transmission and a permanent all-wheel drive system which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 355 km/h (220 mph).

All three models were originally sold for €3 ($4 / £2.5) million but there's no word on how much Refined Marques wants for theirs.

First Tesla Model S delivered in Europe

Tesla has delivered their first Model S outside of North America.

The car, a Model S Signature Edition, was delivered to Norwegian Frederic Hauge who previously bought the first electric vehicle imported into Norway in 1989. Interestingly, Hauge continuously ran his original EV through toll booths without paying until the government seized his car. He would then buy the model back and continue his antics time and time again. This went on until the government decided to eliminate tolls on electric vehicles.

According to Hauge, "As Europe's first owner of the Tesla Model S, I am very proud to be a pioneer." He went on to say the wait was frustrating but it's a great day because he finally has his car.

The European rollout of the Model S will expand shortly as deliveries are slated to occur in Switzerland and the Netherlands later this month.

Launching late next year

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS facelift has been grabbed on camera once again ahead of a scheduled late 2014 reveal.

The current generation of the CLS went on sale at the beginning of 2011 so Mercedes-Benz is working on a facelift which will reach dealerships in early 2015. Don't expect a lot of changes in terms of design as all styling tweaks will be reserved to the front fascia where the four-door coupe will get a new bumper, grille and headlights.

More importantly, it will most likely be the first U.S. Mercedes-Benz model to feature a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission which will be available "in at least one engine combination", according to a company insider.

Chances are the CLS Shooting Brake facelift will be launched together with the regular version towards the end of next year as 2015MY.

BMW i3 2014

BMW has officially unveiled the 2014 BMW i3 in New York City which debuted as a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show two years ago.

The visionary design of the BMW i3 showcases both BMW's customary sporting capability and the efficiency of a four-seater with authentic clarity.

Some notable features include a distinctive BMW kidney grille, U-shaped LED headlights, the "black belt" extending from the bonnet over the roof into the rear, opposing "coach" doors, "stream flow" side contours and 19- or 20-inch forged light-alloy wheels.

On the interior the leather used is treated solely with natural substances, with olive tree leaf extract which serves as a tanning agent. The instrument panel surround and door trim panels use fibres from the kenaf plant. Added to which, 25 per cent (by weight) of the plastic used in the interior has been replaced with recycled materials or renewable raw materials.

Three different trim levels - Loft, Lodge and Suite come equipped with air conditioning, USB/Bluetooth/SIM Card connectivity and a freestanding 6.5-inch iDrive display. Some features as GPS navigation, heated front seats, electrically-operated glass roof and automatic climate control are optional.

The 2014 BMW i3 is powered by a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor that generates a maximum output of 125 kW/170 hp and peak torque of 250 Newton metres (184 lb-ft). Its instantaneous power flows to the rear wheels via a single-speed transmission. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, an hits a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph) and can travel 130 - 160 kilometres (81 - 99 miles) on a single charge.

Next generation Renault Megane wagon spied as a chassis testing mule

The next-gen Renault Megane Sport Tourer (Grandtour) has been spied while undergoing preliminary testing.

Unfortunately this is only a chassis testing mule wearing the body of the current model so we don't get to see any of the sportier styling Renault is promising for the all-new Megane set to go on sale early 2016. This isn't the first time we are seeing the new Megane as back in late July another chassis testing mule was spotted disguised as the Renault Samsung SM3.

In these latest spy shots you will notice one of the test mules has a peculiar exhaust system and another car features hood clips. Details about the engine lineup are not available at this point, but the 1.2-liter TCe 130 will probably be carried over while the dCi 160 from the Espace will likely be the range-topping diesel. The people-carrier also has a beefy TCe 200 EDC which could prove to be a spicy solution for a warm Megane.

The new Megane lineup is expected to ride on the Common Module Family (CMF) platform develop din collaboration with Nissan. Inside the cabin it will reportedly feature a less cluttered layout as Renault will install an infotainment system replacing many of the conventional buttons and knobs to create a cleaner look.

An official reveal is expected in the second half of next year, possibly in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Chinese drifter needs only 8 cm for parallel parking, sets new world record [video]

Chinese drifter and stunt driver Han Yue has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the tightest parallel parking job.

During the China Drift Championship held in Chongqing, he managed to park a MINI 3 Door Hatch into a parking gap that’s only 8 cm (3.15 in) longer than the vehicle used for the stunt. The previous record was set by British driver Alastair Moffatt in July last year, when he parked the vehicle in a 8.6 cm (3.4 in) longer parking spot.

In 2012 Han Yue managed to park a MINI Cooper Chinese Job special edition into a parking spot that was 15 cm (5.91 in) longer than the vehicle itself.

The world's only surviving example of the Skoda 966 Supersport has been fully restored by the Czech manufacturer.

The company explains its specialists have been working “with great care on the renovation of this vehicle for the past year” and now visitors to the brand’s museum can “admire the automotive gem as it was originally presented in the 1950s.”

Back in the 1950s only three examples of the racing car were built with only one surviving to this day. Last seen on track in 1962, the car was owned by the Slovakian racing driver Ivan Micik for many years. In 2007 the vehicle was acquired by the Skoda museum where its extensive renovation began.

The 966 Supersport has an aluminum body and two different engines. Both they have a displacement of 1.1 liters or 1.2 liters (depends on the stage of development) with the first featuring atmospheric aspiration and two carburetors for output of 90 PS (66 kW), while the more powerful has one or even two compressors and up to 180 PS (132 kW). In the final phase of development, a new prototype engine was installed under the bonnet with a capacity of 1.5 liters and either four carburetors and/or two compressors.

F1 civil war rages on in Abu Dhabi

The civil war in formula one continues to rage.

Earlier, the governing FIA summoned Bob Fernley (Force India), Gerard Lopez (Lotus) and Monisha Kaltenborn (Sauber) to mandatorily attend Friday's official press conference in Abu Dhabi.

None of them appeared. In their places were Otmar Szafnauer (Force India) and Federico Gastaldi (Lotus), while Sauber boycotted the press conference altogether.

It is not known if the Swiss team will be penalised.

But the three teams have been bitterly complaining about the distribution of power and income within F1, and the latest step could be the intervention of the European Commission's competition arm.

The German news agency DPA says that following her letter, British politician Anneliese Dodds is now set to meet with the Commission's competition chief next Tuesday to discuss her concerns.

Back in the F1 paddock, it is also believed that proposals to redistribute some income - including the departed Marussia's - to the rebel teams have been vetoed by Ferrari and Red Bull.

The next meetings to take place will reportedly involve FIA president Jean Todt, who has touched down in Abu Dhabi.

"Fortunately I haven't been in any of those meetings," Force India's press conference substitute Szafnauer said on Friday, "so it's hard for me to answer that question."

Will likely get an uprated 0.9-liter turbo

Our spies have sent us fresh images with the Renault Twingo GT set to go on sale sometime next year.

Renault already confirmed a hotter Twingo is on the way and that will not wear the "RS" badge because it will not match the 133 PS (98 kW) output of the previous generation Twingo RS. As a result, it probably means Renault will use the "GT" moniker and will pack 110 - 120 PS (81 - 88 kW) from an uprated three-cylinder 0.9-liter TCe turbocharged gasoline engine.

Aside from the power bump, the Twingo GT will also gain a sportier suspension, larger alloy wheels, dual exhaust arrangement and beefier brakes. There’s no word about the gearbox but chances are Renaultsport will install the EDC dual-clutch six-speed 'box although purists will probably prefer a manual.

The Renault Twingo GT will likely be unveiled sometime next year when Brabus will also launch more powerful versions of the Smart ForTwo and ForFour duo.

Renault truck jumps over Lotus F1 car and sets Guinness record [video]

83 feet and 7 inches

EMC teamed up with the Lotus F1 Team and managed to take down the Guinness World Record for a truck jump.

The record-breaking attempt took place on November 6 at Bentwaters Park, Suffolk in United Kingdom and behind the wheel of the truck was stuntman Mike Ryan (UK). He managed to jump the huge semi-truck no less than 83 feet and 7 inches over a moving Lotus Formula 1 car driven by Martin Ivanov, also a reputable stuntman.

Needless to say, this was done for publicity purposes to increase EMC's awareness, a cloud computing and data management company that collaborates with the Lotus F1 Team. The fact that they broke the Guinness World Record for a truck jump was certainly a nice bonus.

Remember the modified Titan pickup Nissan built using crowd sourcing in its Facebook page? If not, it centered around rising support and awareness for the Wounded Warrior project by putting two Wounded Warrior alumni veterans in the Titan and sending them on a weeklong adventure through the Alaskan wilderness while a film crew followed closely behind.

Well, the time has come for Nissan to reveal the completed project.

This video teaser shows a few snippets from the video series set to release this Veterans Day happening November 11th. The series can be viewed though Hulu, XBOX Live, and the History2 Channel.

The truck itself features a host of upgrades including a lift kit, 35-inch-tall Nitto Trail Grappler tires, an ARB front bumper, A bed topper with roof rack, and a compact off-road camping trailer wrapped in the same desert camo as the Titan. A Lowrance GPS system and a pair of Wounded Warrior-stitched seat covers help dress up the interior. A small list of changes on the engine including a cold-air intake and a reprogrammed ECU make some extra power for tackling the challenging Alaskan terrain.

Spy Shots: 2015 Mini John Cooper Works Caught Testing in Munich

The 2015 Mini John Cooper Works is expected to make its debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Seeing as there's still some time left before the JCW heads to the Motor City, our spy photographers captured the car almost completely undisguised, except for the swirly-camouflage beard, undergoing testing in Munich.

Unlike the spy shots from May 2014 that had the JCW doing test runs using a Cooper S body, this model appears to be as close to the final production model. That's hardly surprising since Mini has pretty much spent the entirety of 2014 developing the new John Cooper Works in time for its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2015.

The 2015 John Cooper Works is expected to receive a four-cylinder turbo engine that produces close to 231 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. Should that be the final number, that's going to represent a modest bump from the 218 ponies powering the outgoing model. It should also be enough to clear 60 mph in about six seconds.

2014 Los Angeles Auto Show Preview

2014 has been an eventful year on the auto show circuit. Whether it was in Detroit, Geneva, New York, Frankfurt, Paris, or even SEMA, we've seen plenty of new production models, concepts, and even limited edition supercars this year. But now that 2014 is coming to a close, we're down to one last major auto show: the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The LA Auto Show opens to the public from November 21st to 30th, 2014. Before that, press days are going to be held from November 18th to 20th, 2014. It's hard to make an argument that the industry is saving the best for last in Los Angeles given what we've already seen this year. But that doesn't mean we're not going to see a menu full of awesome world debuts and concept vehicles in the City of Angels.

We're even looking forward to the annual Design Challenge, one of the most important mini events in LA.

Thus far, debuts are confirmed for plenty of production models we'll be seeing a whole lot of in 2015. The BMW X5 M and X6 M will be in attendance; ditto for the Cadillac ATS-V and the Audi R8 Competition. Oh, speaking of Audi, the company is also bringing the highly anticipated A9 Concept to Los Angeles, which we've had our eyes and ears on for quite some time.

Now that you're getting your fill of the 2014 SEMA Auto Show, take a step back and heave a deep breath as soon as you're done. The 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is coming and it's prepared to end the auto show circuit with a loud and thunderous bang.

Kia Cadenza 2014

Kia had unveiled the all-new 2014 Cadenza premium sedan, the most technologically-advanced vehicle Kia has ever introduced in North America, at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The Cadenza moves the brand up-market with an impressive list of premium standard and optional equipment, including Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC), Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Lane-Departure Warning System (LDWS).

The new Cadenza is equipped with Kia's most powerful V6 engine ever. The smooth-revving 3.3-liter utilizes gasoline direct injection (GDI) technology. The GDI power plant produces 293 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 255 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,200 rpm.

Chevrolet Sonic Limited Edition 2014

Chevrolet has announced the introduction of its first of two limited edition colors for the 2014 Sonic, a chromatic plum called Deep Magenta Metallic which will available August through October. This will be followed by the Cool Blue.

The Deep Magenta Metallic replaced the Inferno Orange and was chosen after the success of Chevrolet Spark's Techno Pink. Chevrolet developed Deep Magenta Metallic after extensive research into fashion runways, consumer products and high-end furniture galleries.

The limited edition colors will be applied with the "three-wet" paint process at GM's Orion Assembly Plant. The follow-up shade, Cool Blue - a greyish, dirty blue - will be available on Sonic from November until March. Dragon Green will come to the lineup as a permanent addition in the first quarter of 2014.

Chevrolet Spark EV 2014

Chevrolet had unveiled the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV at the 2012 LA Auto Show. Packed with smart performance and connectivity technologies into an affordable five-door urban mini car, the Chevrolet Spark EV will be priced under $25,000 with tax incentives.

Spark EV is expected to have among the best EV battery range in its segment and be the first electric vehicle to offer SAE Combo DC Fast Charging capability, enabling the Spark EV to reach 80-percent battery charge in just 20 minutes.

Spark EV is powered by an advanced electric motor and battery system. It consists of a GM-designed, coaxial drive unit and electric motor that together deliver 130 hp (110 kW) and 400 lb.-ft. (542 Nm) of torque for instant acceleration; and a more than 20-kWh lithium ion battery is expected to provide among the best EV range performance in its segment.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse 2014

Lamborghini has unveiled the Lamborghini Gallarbo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse, which is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo and is the fastest ever version of the Gallardo. It will be having its world premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new supercar takes its name from Lamborghini's recently-founded race division.

The Squadra Corse is very close to race cars and has increased dynamic stability and high-downforce aerodynamics. It has a lightweight construction with extensive use of aluminum and carbon fiber.

On the exterior it has a decal strip along the flank that displays green, white and red, the colors of the Italian flag. It gets a matte black finish on the rear wing with contrasts in body color. The hood, front air intakes, rear diffuser and 19-inch forged wheels are painted in high-gloss black, while the mighty brakes callipers are available in red, black or yellow.

Interior is dominated with the use of lightweight carbon fiber and Alcantara. The door panels, racing seats and the center console cover are also made of carbon fiber. Comfort seats can be ordered in place of racing bucket seats.

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is powered by the same V-10 engine used in the Super Trofeo race cars producing 570 hp. The new Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse is all-wheel drive and comes standard with the robotized e-gear six-speed transmission operated by steering wheel paddles. It sprints from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.4 seconds with a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph). Braking is via carbon-ceramic brake system.

Fiat 500X gets Mopar-ized, company to offer 100 styling accessories

Mopar has unveiled a range of new styling accessories for the Fiat 500X.

The first model features an Amore Red exterior with a variety of white Mopar accessories including mirror caps, door moulding inserts and hood / roof stickers. The crossover also has a trunk organizer and unique 18-inch alloy wheels with a "diamond-effect treatment."

The other model has a Greyge exterior with the Chrome Pack which includes chrome-plated mirror cap, chrome door inserts and chrome fog light surrounds. The model also has special floor mats and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Besides introducing the two models, Mopar revealed they will offer 100 accessories for the 500X. They include all the aforementioned accessories as well as roof racks that can hold everything from bikes to snowboards.

Could eschew the V8 for a twin-turbo V6

The Cadillac ATS-V news continues to leak out as a new report is indicating the ATS-V.R race car will debut alongside the 2016 ATS-V lineup at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Cadillac has been coy on details but GM Authority is reporting the car will have a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine. While the engine is expected to produce 450 bhp (335 kW) in road-going model, the race car will have to meet GT3 homologation regulations so it should be tuned to produce 500-600 bhp (372-447 kW). The regulations also call for the car to weigh between 2645-2866 lbs (1200-1300 kg).

If everything pans out, the ATS-V.R will be unveiled on November 18th.

Chevrolet Corvette might not make it to South Korea because it's too noisy

'Delayed indefinitely'

Chevrolet Korea has announced they are having issues with commercializing the Corvette Stingray because it's simply too loud.

The engine noise regulations available in South Korea prevent Chevrolet from selling the Corvette C7 because its 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine is too noisy. Chevrolet Korea CEO Sergio Rocha said the model "is being delayed indefinitely" due to this law which according to him "may benefit the industry in the short run" but he questions its necessity in the future.

Chevrolet could probably find a way to make the Stingray quieter in order to comply with the local laws but it's probably too much of a hassle taking into consideration Rocha said only approximately 12 Corvettes are sold in South Korea each year so why bother.

Lighter next-gen Bentley Continental to use 2016 Porsche Panamera platform

The next generation Bentley Continental will reportedly ride on the MSB platform that will also underpin the all-new Porsche Panamera.

According to a Volkswagen Group insider cited by Autocar, the Bentley Continental will make the switch from Phaeton's aging D1 platform to the Porsche-developed MSB architecture which will also underpin the second generation Panamera due in 2016. Thanks to an extensive use of aluminum, the new Continental should come with a significant weight loss as well as with a more balanced weight distribution which will greatly improve driving characteristics.

It is believed the MSB platform will also form the basis of the next-gen Flying Spur which is set to become more spacious and luxurious but without gaining too much weight despite an increase in the level of equipment offered.

Chances are both the new Continental and Flying Spur will be available with Porsche's all-new V8 gasoline engine which will also be tweaked for future sportier Continental derivatives.

Scheduled to go on sale by mid-2017, the next generation Bentley Continental could be revealed in the second half of 2016.

2016 Audi TT Coupe & Convertible to debut in LA, US specs announced

Audi has announced plans to stage the North American debut of the 2016 TT Coupe and Roadster at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The company declined to release pictures of the US-spec models but they confirmed they will have quattro all-wheel drive, an Audi drive select system and an S tronic transmission.

Inside, the cars will be equipped with LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch display. Customers can also order an optional Bang & Olufsen audio system which features 12-speakers and a 14-channel amplifier.

The TT Coupe and Roadster are powered by a 2.0-liter TSFI four-cylinder engine that develops 220 bhp (164 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. The TTS will only be offered as a coupe in the United States and it will have a more powerful four-cylinder engine with 292 hp (218 kW) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm) of torque.

The 2016 Audi TT will go on sale in the second quarter of 2015 and pricing will be announced closer to launch.

Bugatti has opened their first "lifestyle boutique" in London.

Located in the exclusive Knightsbridge district, the store features an assortment of men's clothing from the Ettore Bugatti and Bugatti Performance Luxury collections. The store also offers "a Tailor Made / Bespoke range exclusively for Bugatti customers, along with limited-edition capsule collections, such as the recent Bugatti Legends collection."

Since the store is designed to appeal to wealthy consumers, it has an upscale design with wood and marble floors as well as brown leather wall paneling. There's even carbon fiber and aluminum shelves that draw inspiration from the Veyron's retractable rear wing.

According to Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer, “Bugatti is not only synonymous with state-of-the-art technology and stunning performance in the automotive sector, but also with a unique lifestyle in keeping with the artistic roots of the Bugatti family." He went on to say "Of course, luxurious and exclusive super sports cars will remain our core business, but we intend to transfer the brand’s huge appeal into areas of life beyond the automotive sector."

The company plans to open up to 30 additional stores and the next few are slated for Dubai, Doha, Milan, Paris and Tokyo. The first U.S. store is slated to open in 2016 but there's no word on where it will be located.

LEIB Engineering BMW 1-Series M Coupe 2013

LEIB Engineering has released a tuning package for the BMW 1-Series M Coupe with an exterior color that catches your attention.

The vehicle receives an elaborate full foil cover in a matte grey with carbon rear spoiler trunk lid also partially covered with foil, an Alpha-N tail diffuser, extended wheel arches, Bilstein chassis and 20-inch Bavaria BC5 Concave wheels with Yokohama Advan sports tyres. The single-part light-metal wheel rims are powder-coated in a noticeable baby blue.

On the performance side the twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine is equipped with an optimized ECU and LEIB Engineering flap exhaust system (made by Supersprint). This enables it to deliver 400 hp (298 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. A speed of up to 306 km/h can now be reached.

Senner Audi A6 4G 2013

Senner Tuning from Ingelheim has released their latest tuning program for the Audi A6.

Senner Tuning has endowed the fancy oil burner from Ingolstadt with a comprehensive turning program and hiked the performance of the 3.0 TDI endine to 374 hp and rising the torque to 776 Nm.

They have constructed a classical KW Street Comfort coil-over kit with a lowering section between 30 and 55 mm to transmit this power to road surface.

Customers will have a choice to choose from the Varianza T1S wheel or the Sword SC1 work rims. Both are black front-polished rims and have external beds anodised to high gloss.

Porsche BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition by SpeedART

Do you remember the 997 Turbo BTR-II 650 EVO SpeedArt unveiled back n 2010? Today the same tuner turned its attention to the BTR-II package one more time and came up with a new version. This time around, the kit is called BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition and unfortunately, it is a little bit less powerful than the first edition, but one benefit it that the tuner applied the kit to a convertible model.

This tuning kit pushes the Porsche's engine to 600 horsepower - 50 horsepower less than the BTR-II 650 EVO model. To achieve this output level, the tuner installed its Powerkit III system, a sports exhaust system with a sound switch, 200-cell sports catalytic converter and 84 mm tailpipes. Peak torque was also increased to 590 pound-feet. This represents a significant increase over the base 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque delivered by the 997 Turbo.

Next to the extra power, the BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition received an adjustable sport suspension with PASM and air lift for more ground clearance and a meaner appearance.

Dodge Journey

Dodge's attempt to re-inject some life to the Journey looks to have paid off with the 2013 model. Although that's not much of a stretch, given the mediocrity that plagued its past iterations, you have to give credit to Dodge for giving the Journey all the necessary tools - and then some - to be able to properly compete against a competitive market segment.

So, yeah, the 2013 Journey is a lot better than its past namesakes and while it still can't be considered a "class-leader," it's made huge enough strides to be treated with respect and attention.

The 2013 Journey's reasonably sporty feel, combined with impressive looks and refined interior makes it an SUV worth your time and money. And, oh by the way, it now comes with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that produces arguably one of the highest outputs of any SUV in its class.

For those looking to have a family-friendly SUV with a hidden thirst for power lurking underneath, the 2013 Journey is as good a choice as any.

Video: Chris Harris Puts the Fiesta ST Against the G63 AMG in a Weird Way

In the latest episode of Drive, Chris Harris performed a rather interesting head-to-head comparison, putting a Mercedes G63 AMG against a Ford Fiesta ST. That may sound insane, given the ST hits 60 mph in around 7 seconds and the G63 AMG does the same in 5.3 seconds, but there is a twist. The twist is that Harris wanted to see if the G63 AMG could beat the Fiesta ST to 60 mph while towing, well... the Fiesta ST...

That's right, Chris strapped 4 tons of trailer and car to the G63 AMG and put the pedal to the metal to see if monstrous Benz SUV can get to 60 mph in under 7 seconds. Quite an interesting and original comparison.

As a reminder, the G63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter V-8 biturbo engine that delivers a total of 544 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. The Fiesta ST's 1.6-liter turbocharged engine produces 197 horsepower and 214 pound of torque.

So, is the Fiesta ST faster under its own power or while strapped to the back of the Mercedes?

Subaru BRZ STI

Ever since Subaru dropped the new BRZ onto the market, we knew that an even hotter STI version was sure to follow. Now, British magazine AutoExpress is offering a few details on this new model, set to arrive sometime next year.

The future BRZ STI will feature a more powerful version of the current 2.0-liter flat-four cylinder 'boxer' engine. The output will be raised up to somewhere in the 250-horsepower area (an addition of about 50 horsepower), thanks to the modifications made to the engine's variable valve control system. That will also allow for an even higher rev limit of around 7,500rpm with the help of a new freer-flowing exhaust.

Next to the extra power, the new STI will also be even lighter than the standard BRZ. It will also be distinguished by a dramatic bodykit, a stiffened and lowered suspension, lighter but larger 18-inch alloy wheels, and upgraded brakes.

One downside to the BRZ STI is that there will be no turbocharged version offered. Subaru says there is no space for it in the engine bay and they are reserving these version for models like the WRX STI.

When the BRZ STI does debut, Subaru would have taken the next step in their playful game of one-ups-man-ship. What say you, Toyota?

UPDATE 10/23/2012: Just a few days ago, Subaru unveiled a Subaru BRZ equipped with STI upgrades at the 2012 Australian Motor Show in Sydney. We knew this wasn't this wasn't the real Subaru BRZ STI deal, but it confirmed the fact that great things were going to be coming from Subaru in the near future.

Now we hear that Subaru is preparing a turbocharged direct-injection version of the horizontally opposed, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine used in the standard BRZ. This engine will feature a single twin-scroll turbocharger and straight direct-injection developed in-house and not the DI/port-injection system developed in cooperation with Toyota.

This engine could deliver up to 280 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, transforming the upcoming BRZ STI into a real competitor in the sports car market. (AutoNews)

Ford to Auction the Last 2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible at Hot August Nights

Ford announced today that the last retail 2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible will be auctioned on August 9, 2013 at the Hot August Nights Auction presented by Barrett-Jackson. All the proceeds will go to the Brain Injury Association of America.

The winner of the auction will have the possibility to customize the GT500 Convertible according to his or her personal desire. Ford offers the opportunity to choose between any imaginable interior, exterior and striping package that will offer a buyer to create a one-off GT500. The car will also be signed by Indy 500 winner, Parnelli Jones, who will attend the auction as well.

At the auction, Ford will also offer both Ride-and-Drive and hot lap experiences in the parking lot of the Atlantis Casino Resort. Visitors will have the chance to experience models like Shelby GT500, 2014 Focus ST and 2014 Fiesta ST.

Mercedes GLK 350 4MATIC Schwarz Edition

The Japanese market has received lots of special attention from tuners in the past few months. After BMW launched a bunch of special-edition models, like the BMW M5 Nighthawk Edition, Mercedes decided it was its turn to develop some special models for Japan.

The first model it released was a rather boring B180 Northern Lights Black Special Edition, but now the maker wanted to make up for this lackluster model and came up with something pretty cool: this GLK 350 4MATIC Schwarz Edition.

The special model got its name from the German word for black, so it is pretty easy to imagine what the the dominant color is. The Schwarz Edition is painted in Obsidian Black, and features stainless-steel running boards and 20-inch wheels. AMG also tossed in a pretty cool styling package a new new sports suspension.

For the interior, the new GLK 350 4MATIC Schwarz Edition adds seats wrapped in a combination of Artico and Dinamica leather, a sport steering wheel, black ash wood trim and alloy pedals.

The new Mercedes GLK 350 4MATIC Schwarz Edition is limited to only 100 units and is priced at 6,840,000 or a little under $70k.

Volvo V60 Cross Country goes official ahead of Los Angeles debut [VIDEO ADDED]

Volvo has announced plans to introduce the V60 Cross Country later this month at Los Angeles Auto Show.

Back in September we saw an undisguised prototype of the V60 Cross Country testing in Spain and Volvo has now made the news official by revealing the high-riding version of its V60 wagon which comes with the same variety of rugged styling as seen on the smaller V40 CC. It features a 65mm increased ground clearance compared to the regular version and has gained front & rear skid plates, fender extenders and side scuff plates while at the back there are integrated dual exhaust pipes.

It can be had with either 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in high-profile tires while inside it gets black leather sport seats with brown stitching along with the possibility of opting for various types of two-tone upholsteries.

The 2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country will be available at first in United States and Canada early next year exclusively with the traditional five-cylinder 250 bhp (186 kW) gasoline engine working with an automatic transmission to send the power to an AWD setup which will allow the model to return 23 mpg US.

The international version will shortly follow with the new range of Drive-E four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines teamed up with a FWD layout whereas the five-cylinder D4 will be paired with an all-wheel drive arrangement.

Mazda unveils track-ready MX-5 for new global cup racing series

Following an announcement made at the end of last month, Mazda has revealed a race version of the all-new MX-5 set to compete in a global cup racing series.

Those who feel the regular 2016 MX-5 doesn’t look manly enough will surely appreciate its race-spec sibling which will enter the track for the 2016 season. It will compete in a newly established Global Cup series that will take part in North America, Europe and Asia, with the season ending with a Global Shootout at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA.

Technical specifications have not been provided but at least we know the cars will be powered by a four-cylinder 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine. All the details will be announced sometime next year after Mazda will finalize all the specs such as tires, suspension, powertrain, safety as well as the necessary equipment and technical partners for their track-only Miata.

As a final note, all vehicles will be commercialized as "ready to race" by a single supplier, representing a first time for Mazda.

The refreshed 2015 Ford Edge will be available in the USA at a starting price of 28,995 USD (23,165 EUR) with an 895 USD (715 EUR) destination charge included.

Ford spokesman William Mattiace has told Edmunds the Sport version will be sold for 29,495 USD (23,965 EUR), including shipping. Compared to the outgoing 2014 Edge, the facelifted SUV comes with identical price tag. Prices for SEL and Titanium trim levels will be announced soon. The model will reach the dealerships in the first quarter of 2015.

In North America, the SUV will be sold with a standard 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 245 bhp (183 kW) and 357 Nm (270 lb-ft). The Sport variant will be powered by a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with more than 300 bhp (224 kW) that benefits from an adaptive steering system. A naturally-aspirated V6 3.5-liter will also be available.

All these engines will work with a 6-speed automatic transmission equipped with a SelectShift manual mode. The base 2.0 EcoBoost will be available exclusively in front-wheel drive configuration, while the 2.7-liter and 3.5-liter models have an optional all-wheel drive system.

Features aerodynamic tweaks

We just received a first batch of spy shots depicting what appears to be the 2015 Porsche 911 RSR testing at the Nürburgring.

The beginning of the week on the 'Ring was reserved to automakers wanting to test their racecars and besides the Audi R8 LMS Ultra prototype our spies also caught on camera an updated Porsche 911 RSR. It’s the first revision for the 991-based RSR which takes part in the World Endurance Championship.

The prototype was wearing a full-body camouflage hiding what will likely be several aerodynamic tweaks, including a significantly larger front spoiler lip, different side skirts and an updated rear bumper. Moreover, the rear wing seems to be bigger and we also notice some vents between the taillights. Some of the body changes will likely make more use of carbon fiber to further lower the car's weight.

There's no word about the engine but we remind you the 2014 Porsche 911 RSR is powered by a six-cylinder 4.0-liter boxer with 470 HP (346 kW) working with a six-speed sequential racing gearbox.

An official reveal of the 2015 911 RSR will likely occur early next year.

Toyota Tundra Monster Trucks storm into SEMA

Toyota has introduced two Tundra-based Monster Trucks at SEMA.

First up, the Hiring Our Heroes Monster Truck was created by Steve Zion and mechanics from Toyota of Wallingford. It features a modified frame, nitrogen shock absorbers and custom SWR wheels with massive 66” x 43” x 25” tires. There's also a supercharged 5.7-liter V8 engine that develops 580 bhp (432 kW).

The truck was brainchild of Medal of Honor recipient Sergeant Dakota Meyer (USMC) who wanted it to call attention to the need for helping veterans find employment opportunities.

The Tonka Tundra Monster Truck, on the other hand, pays tribute to emergency responders who dedicate their lives to keeping members of their communities safe. It features a tri-color exterior with Bushwacker fender flares, Fab-Fours Bumpers, a 10+ inch suspension lift and 20” x 12” KMC Wheels with 40" Toyo Open Country M/T tires. The truck also has a number of TRD parts including a supercharger, air filter, sports exhaust system and Big Brake Kit.

Acura chief designer hints at an entry-level sport car, possible Integra successor

Acura chief designer Dave Marek has revealed the company could offer a successor to the Integra / RSX.

Speaking to Car & Driver at the sidelines of the SEMA Motor Show, Marek said “A performance brand needs a flagship and it needs an accessible sport car." He went on to clarify, "Not a sports car, but a sport car.”

Marek declined to go into specifics but suggested the car is several years off and wouldn't arrive until 2017 at the earliest.

The designer also revealed Acura is planning to expand their lineup as the company is putting "lots of resources and activity" into returning the brand to its glory days.

Spy Shots: Lamborghini Cabrera Out Testing

Lamborghini Gallardo's successor is rumored to arrive in a concept version at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but it looks like the company is already testing the production version of the supercar. The car was recently caught testing in hot conditions and it's getting pretty clear that it will get an Aventador-inspired look. From the spy shots, we gather that the prototype will have dimensions similar to the Gallardo.

The successor to the Gallardo is rumored to carry the Cabrera name, which is, of course, the name of a famed Spanish bull. The new Cabrera will bring a series of new features and will be built on the same lightweight, carbon-fiber monocoque as the Aventador, which will make it about 60 pounds lighter than the current Gallardo.

Expect the production version of the Lamborghini Cabrera to be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The coupe version will be followed by a a number of variants in the years thereafter, including Spyder and the Superleggera models.

Meet the Husqvarna SMR125, an agile motorcycle that has all it needs to deal effortless with the toughest tracks.

The motorcycle was created for the young riders that are fans of supermoto, but also want an agile vehicle for riding through the city.

At its heart lies a single cylinder overhead camshaft (sohc) 4-stroke, liquid-cooled 124.45 cc engine that meets the Euro 3 emission regulations. The engine is combined with a six speed transmission and comes with a Keihin 29 mm carburettor and electric ignition.
